James Takeshita

 

James Takeshita joined FSDC in the fall of 2008. He received his 1st degree black belt in August of 2013 after 5 years of training. He received his 2nd degree black belt in late June 2015 after another 2 years of training. And he became an adult 3rd degree black belt (Sensei) in March 2017. He attends karate classes regularly, enjoys  studying bunkai, kumite, teaching self-defense, and competing in karate tournaments. In 2013, he won his kata division and took second in kumite at the IWKA World Competition, and took third place in kata and fourth in weapons at the IHOF National Tournament.

James hopes to eventually become an upper level black belt, and an Eagle Scout. Outside of karate, he enjoys guitar, camping, and reading books.
