Krishna Kiru started training with FSDC when she was seven in 2009. She loves everything about karate, and thinks of FSDC as a second home. She enjoys sparring, katas, two person katas, weapons, bunkai, teaching, and learning more about Isshinryu. Krishna has participated in many tournaments. Whether it was a national or local tournament, Krishna has enjoyed each tournament immensely. Krishna received a nomination for top five female karate-ka ages 12 and below in 2012.
In December, 2019, Krishna became a Fourth Degree Adult Black Belt, only the second woman to achieve this rank in FSDC’s history. Krishna’s goal is to become a Grand Master. Also, she wants to feel prepared on the streets, and be ready to take on anyone who tries to hurt her or her friends and family.
Krishna has many hobbies outside of karate. She enjoys running, swimming in the lake with her dog, hiking, painting, reading, and traveling. With music, Krishna likes playing the piano, playing her flute, and singing. Her favorite subjects in school are English and Science. She is on the leadership board for UNICEF club, a part of the Novi Youth Council, a member of the school’s forensics team, writing club, and brain cancer research club, and enjoys competing in science fairs.
