Originally a Kung Fu practitioner, Mark began taking Isshinryu Karate in June 2009 at the urging of his children, who had been studying Isshinryu for several years. He can be found training or teaching up to four days per week, and enjoys going to local, state and national tournaments. In 2013, he was awarded Top Male Karate Ka from the Isshinryu Hall of Fame, and was recognized as Top Five in the same category in 2011 and 2014. Mark became a San Dan on June 28, 2015.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and a Master’s of Business Administration from Michigan State University. When he is not training or teaching karate, he enjoys golfing, snow skiing, and spending time with his family.
