Emily Kasper began learning Isshinryu karate with FSDC in 2012. Currently, Emily attends karate three times a week and helps teach as often as possible. Emily attends many tournaments throughout the year, including Nationals. She also enjoys performing martial arts for community events with other FSDC students. On December 18, 2016, at the age of 12, Emily tested for and received the rank of Sho Dan Ho, or first degree Junior Black Belt. In April, 2018, she earned the rank of Ni Dan Ho. (2nd degree Junior Black Belt). The Isshinryu Hall of Fame recognized her as one of the top five Young Female Karate Kas 13-17 in 2018.
Aside from karate, Emily enjoys playing viola, taking art classes (check out some of her art work under the Artists of Isshinryu tab), and fund raising to end human trafficking in Michigan with her running ministry, Love Runs.
