Joseph Saeli began studying Isshinryu karate with FSDC in 2014 at the age of 7. In December, 2019, Joey earned the rank of Junior Black Belt. Karate has taught him to have confidence, how to set goals, and that he can achieve those goals with knowledge and hard work. He realized early on that he was learning more than just karate skills, but was learning lessons that would apply to other parts of life as well.
Joey has competed at many tournaments and particularly enjoys team kata. He also enjoys teaching and introducing young students to karate.
Aside from karate, Joey loves spending time outdoors with his family—boating, jet skiing, dirt biking, snowboarding, and snowmobiling. He ran cross country in middle school and plans to join the lacrosse team.
