Sonali Joshi has been doing karate since 2010. She attends karate 3-4 times a week. She has participated in many different tournaments such as Nationals and Canton tournaments. She also takes part in the F.S.D.C. tournaments every year. She enjoys running kata with her fellow students and teaching others karate. Sonali loves teaching kids karate because she feels that not only helps them with karate, but it helps her learn as well.
Sonali earned her junior black belt in August 2015 at the age of 12, and in March 2017 earned her 2nd degree junior black belt at the age of 14. She hopes to become an adult third degree black belt before she goes to college.
Besides karate, Sonali enjoys dancing, singing, playing violin, and writing. She is also co-chair of a national Indian youth organization.
