Alex Zacharek

Alex joined FSDC in 2016 after some “gentle” prodding from him wife.  To his surprise, karate became much more than the simple workout session he originally imagined it would be.  On October 11, 2020 he received his Black Belt and is interested to see how far he can progress in the coming years.

Alex teaches mainly the younger belt students; but has just as much fun teaching the adults.  He also takes part with many of the local activities that are run and sponsored by FSDC.

Outside of karate, Alex is a research scientist at Henry Ford Hospital where he works to develop treatments for people who have suffered a stroke.  Other than this, Alex loves to cook, read, travel and spend time with his family.
