Scott Verhelle

Scott joined FSDC in 2009 to be with his son and daughter as a way to spend more time together. Four years later, he achieved his goal by becoming a black belt. He is now a 5th degree Black Belt. He enjoys teaching karate and being with others who share the same passion. In 2017 and 2018, he was named one of the top five Adult Male Karate Students by the International Isshinryu Hall of Fame and one of the top five for Male Instructor of the Year in 2018.

Scott started taking karate in 1986, but due to school conflicts, he had to stop and was not able to achieve his dream of reaching black belt. He is very excited to have had a second opportunity with FSDC to fulfill his goals. He graduated with a Bachelor degree in Business then a two year Material Science degree and a Master in Business Administration.

Beside karate, he enjoys golfing, racquetball and taking vacations with his family.
